One of the central principles of the early music movement, throughout its history to the present day, is that there still exist many unknown masterworks, of great beauty and artistic value, just waiting to be rediscovered. In our final Bach at Noon program BCSD offers two such pieces, in their US premieres: the Jubilate Deo of Joseph-Hector Fiocco (1703-1741), in a new edition based on the manuscript in Brussels Conservatory; and Mein Herz schwimmt im Blut by Christoph Graupner (1683-1760), which served as a closely-followed model for a better-known work based on the same text by the young J.S.Bach.
