Fiona Chatwin completed a Doctorate of Musical Arts from UCSD with a view to a joint career as both teacher and performer. She has worked with students of all ages, backgrounds and vocal disciplines designing curriculum for programs that range from music theory to opera, vocal music of the 20th century to improvisation. In 2005, Fiona founded Villa Musica – San Diego’s Community Music Center. Over the past fifteen years she has built Villa Musica into a musical home for aspiring musicians of all ages, providing a stable work environment for local teaching artists and providing music education opportunities for low-income youth, adults, and seniors throughout San Diego County.

Kathleen Hansen has been working in the field of music education and performance since 1998. She has a Bachelor of Music degree specializing in music education and trumpet, a single subject teaching credential, and a Master of Music degree specializing in conducting. Kathleen is the Artistic Director of the San Diego Women’s Chorus, Master Director of the San Diego Chorus of Sweet Adelines, and Musical Director of the Sun Harbor Barbershop Chorus. She serves as the Artistic 411 Advisor for GALA Choruses and on the International Faculty of Sweet Adelines International. She is an active clinician, musical adjudicator, presenter, voice teacher and coach. In 2020-21, Kathleen has moved her work online: running rehearsals, coaching, and designing and editing virtual ensembles.
