FESTIVAL ÓPERA EN LA CALLE VUELVE A LA COLONIA LIBERTAD PARA CELEBRAR SU 20 ANIVERSARIO
La Ópera de Tijuana confirmó la realización del evento masivo para el sábado 8 de julio, a partir de las 2:00 pm en la calle 5ª. de la colonia Libertad
Tijuana Baja California, a 15 de junio de 2023– El Festival Ópera en la Calle llegará a su vigésima edición con gran entusiasmo del público, artistas, instituciones, patrocinadores y equipo de producción, para celebrar veinte años de cumplir con su misión de acercar la ópera a todo tipo de audiencias.
María Teresa Riqué Jaime, directora de la Ópera de Tijuana, confirmó la realización del gran evento masivo que este año tendrá lugar el sábado 8 de julio en su sede original la calle 5ª de la colonia Libertad, a partir de las 2:00 pm con entrada libre.
Destacó que se trata de un doble festejo porque el XX Festival Ópera en la Calle se suma a la celebración por el 134 aniversario de la ciudad de Tijuana; además de que el festival es único en su tipo a nivel internacional, y esperado por el público de ambos lados de la frontera que acude anualmente.
“Este año contaremos con la participación aproximada de 400 artistas, así como un importante número de proveedores y voluntarios de diversas instituciones educativas que se han sumado al proyecto, entre las que destaca el Instituto Tecnológico de Tijuana (TEC), cuya participación ha tenido una fuerte presencia desde la primera edición del Festival”, subrayó.
En el programa artístico destaca la presencia del maestro Alfredo Sorichetti, quien vendrá de Italia a dirigir la ópera “Elixir de Amor” de Gaetano Donizetti, con la que se cierra el programa del Festival.
También es importante mencionar el proyecto “Intervención de fachadas”, el cual llevarán a cabo estudiantes de Arquitectura y de Diseño Industrial del TEC, y que consiste en pintar las fachadas de algunas casas de vecinos para realzar la celebración.
El Festival este año cuenta con el apoyo del XXIV Ayuntamiento de Tijuana, la Secretaría de Cultura de Baja California, instituciones educativas como el TEC, el Comité de Turismo y Convenciones (Cotuco), el sector privado y medios de comunicación.

She highlighted that it is a double celebration because the XX Opera en la Calle Festival joins the celebration for the 134th anniversary of the city of Tijuana; In addition to the fact that the festival is the only one of its kind at an international level, and expected by the public from both sides of the border that attends annually.
“This year we will have the participation of approximately 400 artists, as well as a significant number of suppliers and volunteers from various educational institutions that have joined the project, among which the Tijuana Technological Institute (TEC) stands out, whose participation has had a strong presence since the first edition of the Festival”, he stressed.
