For those who love to laugh, have a soft spot for Victorian-era chimney sweeps, and were the only person in their family who could actually spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious — now is your chance to turn your passion into performance with St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church (Poway) concert production of “Mary Poppins.”

Auditions for roles for the Broadway musical, with music and lyrics by the legendary Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, will be held Saturday, March 16 from noon to 4 p.m., and again Sunday, March 17 from noon to 3 p.m.

The musical is based on the stories of the magical and mischievous nanny by P.L Travers, and the Academy Award-winning 1964 Walt Disney film starring Julie Andrews. Actors of all ages, genders, ethnicities, faith traditions and abilities are welcome to audition.

Applicants should prepare one song from the show that demonstrates both their vocal and theatrical talent. For character descriptions and suggested age ranges for the various parts go to www.mtishows.com

Rehearsals will begin April 1 and run through May 30. Performances are scheduled for May 31 at 7:00 p.m., June 1 at noon, and June 2 at 4 p.m. All rehearsals and performances will be at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, 16275 Pomerado Road in Poway.
