The Light of Hope Returning

A Seasonal Cantata by Shawn Kirchner

The Light of Hope Returning celebrates the season with new and reimagined folk music, including a number of Kirchner’s best-loved Christmas settings (Lo, How a Rose, Brightest and Best), combined with newly-penned carols on Christmas, Winter Solstice, and New Year’s themes. The music, in traditional, bluegrass, and gospel settings, is presented in a staged performance including the 80-member Chorale, and professional soloists and instrumentalists, designed to take a listener on a journey from distant hope through darkness into the rebirth of light and true hope for the future.
