Escondido Choral Arts 

The new choral director for Escondido Choral Arts, Justin Gray, is auditioning new singers for the Center Chorale (adults) in the month of August for a start of rehearsals on September 13, 2021.  Interested singers may apply at www.EscondidoChoralArts.com.  Upcoming concerts include The Center Chorale as the opera chorus for Opera’s Greatest Moments concert at the California Center for Arts, Escondido on November 6, 2021 and A Joyous Celebration holiday concert on December 5, 2021 with the San Diego Jewish Men’s Choir and The Center Children’s Chorus at Trinity Church, Escondido. The Center Children’s Chorus (ages 7-14, unchanged voices) resumes Sept. 13, 2021 with signups on the Escondido Choral Arts website.

Key of She

Key of She is a San Diego based women’s ensemble formed in 2016. Our goal is to engage audiences in notable performances featuring an eclectic blend of genres and cultural influences. Our members are experienced singers and are expected to attend rehearsals prepared to work at the ensemble level, not just on rudimentary note and rhythm reading. Homework is assigned each week to keep everybody moving in the same direction. No formal auditions are scheduled for our upcoming winter session. The La Jolla Renaissance Singers are looking for new members!  If you like to sing in a small, supportive a cappella ensemble where every voice counts, we may be the group for you! We’ve been presenting programs around San Diego County for more than 55 years. Do you love singing choral music? Audition for the La Jolla Symphony Chorus! We look forward to an exciting season of choral performances in 2022-2023.

Under the direction of our new Choral Director Arian Khaefi, the Chorus will perform beautiful and challenging works including Rossini-Stabat Mater, Brahms-Ein Deutsches Requiem, Dett-The Chariot Jubilee, and Ernst Bloch’s rarely performed and monumental Avodath Hakodesh. We look forward to meeting new and cherished friends at auditions at the UCSD Conrad Prebys Music Center in August and September.  Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm-9:30pm beginning September 29. San Diego Chorus (Sweet Adelines)

The San Diego Chorus of Sweet Adelines International has open auditions every Wednesday night at 6:45pm year-round in Room 207 in the Casa del Prado building across the street from the Natural History Museum in Balboa Park. The San Diego Chorus welcomes women of any age, race, nationality, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender expression to visit us for an open audition. We enjoy meeting singers looking for a place to be a part of a wonderful sisterhood filled with music, laughter and camaraderie. The San Diego Chorus is a highly trained and talented group that has earned more awards, medals and prizes than any local sports team. An a cappella show chorus of women singing 4-part harmony in the barbershop style, The San Diego Chorus of Sweet Adelines International is committed to both local entertainment and international competition. Led by Director Kathleen Hansen, each rehearsal is a lesson in vocal and performance skills. Along with musical development, the San Diego Chorus offers creative opportunities in areas like choreography, costume design, and show production.
