The Center Chorale and Chamber Orchestra perform Sacred, Secular, and Dance music of the Renaissance featuring arrangements by Artistic Director, John Nettles in the beautiful Grace Lutheran Church of Escondido.

Music includes English composer William Byrd’s Mass for Four Voices, a setting published secretly in London around 1592–1595 without a printer's name or date to protect the composer during the reign of Protestant Queen Elizabeth I. In 2023, the Gloria from the Mass for Four Voices was sung as part of the liturgy for the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. Music of this period features four or more independent lines woven together with settings of both sacred and secular madrigals and chansons using lute, viol, and early keyboards. Chorus and instruments present beautifully rendered pieces of this period.
