Light in the Darkness: A Spring Choral Concert invites listeners into a reflective and deeply expressive musical journey centered on silence, prayer, and love.
Presented by Stellarum Chamber Choir—an ensemble of passionate singers in the San Diego area dedicated to exploring diverse a cappella repertoire across genres and eras—this thoughtfully curated program brings together luminous works spanning centuries.
Alongside composers such as Anton Bruckner, Arvo Pärt, and Samuel Barber, the program also features beautiful Korean choral works by Hyeyoung Cho and Nam-kyu Chung, offering a subtle yet meaningful connection to poetry and musical traditions from Korea.
With selections accompanied by piano and percussion, the program explores themes of longing, devotion, and human connection through a rich palette of choral colors and textures. Highlights include Bruckner’s Os justi, Pärt’s The Deer’s Cry, Barber’s Sure on This Shining Night, and Jake Runestad’s Let My Love Be Heard, conducted by our new Assistant Conductor, Phoenix Nguyen.
Under the direction of Seonjeong Park, the ensemble invites you into a space of stillness, reflection, and renewal.
All are welcome. We hope you’ll join us for this special evening.
