Meet Our 2026 Summer Chorus Conductor Tomás Acosta

Tomás Acosta is a versatile choral conductor, piano teacher, and vocal coach. Born in Los Angeles and raised in Ensenada, Mexico, he holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California and a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting from the Universidad Veracruzana.

He has participated in choral and orchestral conducting master classes in Cuba, Argentina, Italy, Germany, and Romania, working with internationally recognized conductors and educators. In recent years, his artistic work has increasingly focused on culturally diverse repertoire and community-centered choral singing, particularly through projects that connect singers across the U.S.–Mexico border.

Acosta has founded and directed several choral ensembles and artistic initiatives in Baja California and is also co-founder of the Festival Internacional Coralifornia. He currently directs the choirs at First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego and leads Vox Artis, a choral ensemble that brings together voices from Baja California and San Diego.

Choral Consortium of San Diego is thrilled to have Tomás as our conductor this summer! You will not want to miss out on the incredible music selections and the chance to sing with Tomás and singers from across our region.
