Educational topic: Panel discussion on “Working with Composers and Commissions”

Our educational program features composers and choral conductors discussing the collaborative process—the unique opportunities and challenges involved in the creation and production of new choral music, including commissioning. We are fortunate to be able to present:

• Dr. Emilie Amrein, Director of Choral Activities at The University of San Diego
• Dr. Stephen Sturk, composer
• Juan Carlos Acosta, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of SACRA/PROFANA
• Dr. Derek Keller, composer and professor in the Sacramento area.

A short business meeting including Board member elections will follow the panel discussion.

The panel will be moderated by CCSD Board Member Dr. Lukas Schulze, San Diego composer and Assistant Choral Conductor of the La Jolla Symphony Chorus.
